Arthur T.Downey, Esq., graduated from Saint Vincent in 1959 with a bachelor of arts degree in history. He continued his education at the Villanova University Law School, where he earned a juris doctorate, before going on to receive an LL.M. degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Downey has at various times been a lawyer, a law professor, business executive, diplomat, and former National Security Council staff member. He is the author of Civil War Lawyers: Constitutional Questions, Courtroom Dramas, and the Men Behind Them (2011).
