Nina Crews is a children’s book author and illustrator based in Brooklyn, New York. She uses photographs and collage to create energetic stories that center on the experiences of young children. She is the daughter of author-illustrators Donald Crews and Ann Jonas. Her work has been recognized by the ALA Notable Committee, National Council of Teachers of English, Cooperative Children’s Book Council, Junior Library Guild, Bank Street College of Education and numerous others. Nina’s books include Seeing Into Tomorrow: Haiku by Richard Wright, One Hot Summer Day, and The Neighborhood Mother Goose. Her most recent book (February, 2020), A Girl Like Me was written by Angela Johnson and encourages all children to embrace their individuality and follow their dreams.
