Pamela E. Foster is a historical writer and award-winning journalist, having written three other books and hundreds of articles about the history of black people in country music, the history of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Nashville, Tennessee, and more. A retired tenured faculty member in the Communications Department at Tennessee State University, she taught journalism and public speaking for thirteen years and advised The Meter newspaper students to the top in their field. She currently teaches research writing at the University of Phoenix and serves as secretary and co-founder of the Nashville chapter of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc. A graduate of Smith College and the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, she is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and now lives in Nashville.
