Calliope doesn’t have an easy time waking up in the morning-which means she’s often late to school, a fact that doesn’t escape Mrs. Rutherford or any of the sixth graders in Calliope’s first period class. Mrs. R, as all her students call her, is teaching the class poetry writing and invites them to participate in the First Annual Shining Voices Poetry Festival. Who will win the top prize?
